Kerala cyclone Tauktae
Tauktae was suggested by Myanmar which means gecko a lizard known for the distinctive vocalizations.
A red alert has been issued in Kerala on Friday and for Karnataka on Sunday.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prognosis of cyclones from Tauktae is likely to hit the coast of Kerala on May 16.
"A depression has formed over Lakshadweep area. To intensify further into a cyclone during next 24 hours and move towards Gujarat coast."- NDRF
Cyclone Tautke 5 updates
1. Kerala Chief Minister's office said it's said that extremely heavy rainfall has been prognostic on May 13, 15, 16.
2. A low-pressure area over the South Arabian Sea adjoining the Lakshadweep will experience cyclonic disturbances in the next 24 hours with 40 to 50 km per hour wind or wind my being increased 70 to 80% per hour May 15 to 16.
3. NDRF 53 teams are on standby 24 pre-deployment.
4. IMD has issued for fishermen till May 17.
5. Cyclone Tauktae is likely to compact Lakshadweep Goa and coastal regions also.
