The Indian economy is in complete disarray due to the Corona pandemic. In
this, the
Center of Monitoring Indian Economy Pvt. Ltd. (CMIE)
released a new unemployment figure.
According to
CMIE, the unemployment rate in India is 6.8%. On the other hand, if we look at,
urban and rural areas, then the figure is as follows 7.7% in the urban
area and 6.4% in the rural area.
The highest unemployment rate in Urban 22.3% was found in Uttrakhand,
which means that Uttrakhand has the highest number of people who have no
jobs in urban areas. The unemployment figure in rural areas was also
worse, as per the latest data it was found that Haryana's percentage of
unemployment is 28.8, which can be said that unemployment is highest in
rural areas at present.
If you look at the data from rural areas, it is very shocking because
there is a 28.8 percent record-breaking unemployment rate which is not a
good sign for the Indian economy. There is an indication that development
is going to a very low level in the rural areas in our country.
It has been said that half of India lives in the village. The Centre has
admitted in parliament that the unemployment rate in rural areas nearly
doubled from 2.9% in 2013-14 to 5.3% in 2017-18. In the same period, there
was an over 50% increase in unemployment in urban areas. The most striking
trend has been the rise in unemployment among urban males from 3% to 6.9%
during the two year period from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
According to these surveys, the estimated unemployment rate in rural and
urban areas for those 15 years or older was determined.
